Superintendent and an Assistant Superintendent (both Cadet

Officers), and an Analyst who also holds the post of an

Assistant Superintendent. This allotment of officers has

existed unchanged since 1925 when the second Cadet Officer was

added and since that year many extra functions, notably the

collection of statistics and the issue of Certificates of

Origin and kindred matters, have been imposed until the volume of the Department's work has increased very considerably.

The Superintendent has on several occasions recently made representations that his staff is insufficient for the adequate despatch of business and safeguarding of

of such an officer be available.
